Sit still, take a breath I heard them say, Soak in

Sit still, take a breath I heard them say,
Soak in the sun as it shines for you today.

Sit still, hear the ocean dance,
Hear the birds as they sing a romance.

Sit still, see the horizon and know,
It reminds you just how far you can go.

Stand up, be inspired I heard myself say,
Soak in the sun as it shines today.

Plunge into the depth, take a chance,
Life reaches out a hand to clasp and dance.

Dream as far as the horizon goes,
Seeing beyond is what my heart knows.

Sit still, take a breath I heard them say,
See the new horizon, it’s yours today.

The sunshine is calling, And I can see you sprawl

The sunshine is calling,
And I can see you sprawling,
Gardens to explore,
And children to adore.

Tapping on the window pane,
Bouncing in from a day in the rain,
Adventures in the wild,
To me you are like another child.

Tip toeing about the place,
Until the dog comes in for the chase,
Curled into my lap as the night falls,
So you’re rested before the sunshine calls.

But as the years passed by,
One day I saw a glimmer in your eye,
The angels were calling,
And I realised your last sunset was falling.

I stayed with you, I tried not to cry,
I wanted to hold you just for one last nigh,
But the sun was falling,
And this time it was your calling.

So close your eyes now, I’m right here,
And wherever I go, please stay near,
I’ll be thinking of you every now and then,
Until, of course we meet again.

I’m ready to fly, to dance from within;
Listen in silence to hear the sea birds sing.
Swallow the heaviness weighing in on my soul;
And let me breathe in life as it finds my new role.
