It was just another day,
But different in some kind of way,
In a seat by the window I sat on my own,
Caught up in my thoughts and alone
I glanced up to an invitation to talk for awhile,
I hesitated, but couldn’t help but smile,
Beyond the window it poured outside,
So with a borrowed umbrella we caught a ride
Lost in a moment in the haze of the rain,
There was a brief moment that did not feel in vain,
In a new window seat I listened to this squire,
I heard a life story, so much of which I cared to admire
And as the night carried on,
We danced to my favourite song,
I wondered if we were meant to meet,
Or just be two people merely passing to greet
But I guess life offers choices in which to partake,
Like sliding doors with a split decision to make,
New friendships are often there to acquire,
It just takes one moment in life at that time to inspire
But as time evolves its like another movie scene,
Hard to really know what it’s all meant to mean,
There’s that feeling of anticipation,
But there can never be any expectation
Because life offers choices in which to partake,
Like sliding doors in a life of decisions to make
